Last year, Jane Toombs and other members of the Gothic Romance Writers chapter of Romance Writers of America decided to create this series to make readers more aware of Gothic books and authors. Many of us have loved Gothic books over the years but have not found as many Gothics available recently. A few years ago, because we loved the genre so much, we founded the group as a RWA chapter.
Creating the Shadowed Hearts series has been a fun as well as an intense project for the authors participating. Jane Toombs was dedicated to the series from the beginning and spearheaded a team of members who edited each of the works before submission. So far there are 12 books in the series, either completed and on sale at the Red Rose Publishing site or in the process of production or completion. It's an exciting time for Gothic Romance Writers!

I used to read Gothic romances many years ago, before I switched to mostly mysteries and thrillers. Since I know I'm getting a Kindle for Christmas, I'll have to start perusing the books available on Kindle and start a wish list.
I generally don't read any romance. But on occasion, I come across a writer that I really enjoy and then I will read whatever they write. I bet a lot of people feel that way.

When I add the word "romance" to the description of a book, I think it leads to a misconception. Dangerous Hearts is connected to a romantic story from the past--a romance that started in the early 20th century. A young woman meets and falls in love with a prince. Because his family forbids their marriage, he (as a token of their love) gives her a priceless necklace that 21st century thieves are after.

I know what a Gothic is! I used to read them all the time. :) You knew a Gothic because the cover usually had a beautiful old house (or castle) with a young woman running away from it, looking over her shoulder in fright.
Young girl goes to old house. Two men, one nice and one mean, one fair and one dark. The nice one turns out to be the bad guy and the mean one turns out to be the good guy.
I couldn't get enough of them! Even though they followed a general formula, they were each very different. Sounds like yours is quite original.

Marian, according to Amazon, their Kindle books can be formatted many different ways. I haven't tried it so don't know how it works. Am excited that you are a Gothic fan!!! Yeah!!!
I used to read Gothic romances. I do have a Kindle, so I'll have to look into these.
Sorry, romances are not my style. But considering how many have told me they'll be downloading my book on their new Kindle this Christmas, I'd have to say a lot of people are getting them! Nooks and iPads, too.

I'm afraid I read mostly mysteries for pleasure. But I have to say that I did enjoy the Twilight series. Does that count? The rest of my reading is for research. No Kindle on my Christmas wish list. But you never know...
