"I" is for Illuminated - #A to Z Blogging Challenge 2017

"I" is for Illuminated in the A to Z Blogging Challenge 2017. After "Heavenly", what could be more perfect than a day that is Illuminated. What does this word mean to you? Are we illuminated with the heart or with the mind? Is it both and more? This is another of my small, 4" x 6" paintings.

Illuminated

Through crumbling leaves, blossoms rise in spring.
Colors bloom as flowers,
Trees glow green in the forest.
For better or worse, the world is illuminated.

We lie bare and see the evil lurking still.
Sometimes I close my eyes and recall only goodness.
Is that so wrong? I wonder.
The gray seeps into my joy.

But beauty lingers in the night.
It covers black and gray.
Blossoms rise to the top
And hide the broken leaves.

In my world, color bounds
And leaps with youthful joy.
Darkness vanishes in the light
And stumbles to hide beneath the rocks.

I find all your works in both forms inspirational. Your painting makes me think of underwater for some reason, streaming with life. I love your poem..always makes me think
