Thoughts About A to Z Blogfest

I enjoyed being part of the second A to Z Blogfest. It made me organize my life to make time for a daily post (except for most of the Sundays). I met new bloggers and got some new followers. If I had managed to visit more blogs, I'm sure I would have gained even more followers. However, I live a cluttered life with few vacant spots in my weekly schedule. During the month of April, I also was gone on a 10-day trip, a part of which included the unforgettable visit to Antelope Canyon in Arizona. That trip made it more difficult to visit others on the list.

Whether it was my computer or something else, when I tried the links to some of the blogs I found the link was not viable. It could well be the fault of something in my software, but it was disappointing to find so many bad links on the list. Did anyone else have that problem?

I liked having a theme. It made me tie my own posts together in the Around the World in 30 Days travel theme.

Thank you, everyone who hosted this event. A special thanks to Alex Cavanaugh who is such a faithful visitor to the blogs of others.

It was fun writing the posts!

You had a fun theme, Monti! Sorry you found bad links. We worked hard to remove most of them.

Hi Monti - you had a great theme for your story line ..

I didn't come across any non-viable links .. but I too didn't visit that many new blogs ..

Looking forward to reading about your Arizona trip ...

Cheers Hilary

Thanks, Alex. I really wondered if it was the fault of my equipment since it happened several times.

Hilary, thank you. I'm sorry we didn't visit once again the Grand Canyon. I haven't been there since they put the walkway out over the canyon. I'm not sure how I feel about that intrusion with nature.

visiting from A/Z post challenge reflections; I didn't find any nonviable links, I didn't visit all that participated, but about 10-20 a day most days. Congrats for finishing the challenge, admidst a vacation too! That had to be an adventure in itself!

You're right, Betty. It was an adventure to write blogs during a vacation. Thankfully, we had good internet service.

I would find several nonviable links in a row. I was visiting blogs following mine on the list.

Thanks!

Sounds like April was a busy month for you - which makes completing the challenge even that much more satisfying.

I did notice my number on the list kept changing, which meant the hosts definitely made an attempt to remove links when necessary.

I'm in for next year, but already scared knowing how many MORE sites there will be!

I loved your theme...felt like I traveled without leaving the house or spending any money for gas. The blog list was cluttered a little but it's what to expect when so many sign up. All in all it was a good month.

There's a common theme of non-participants in this reflections part of the challenge too. I've visited 33 sites in the last three days. Of those, only five made the effort, even though the moderators asked to only send tha link through. I admire you for participating despite your other commitments. Well done.

Visiting from the A to Z. I also found some links that either didn't work or some people who changed their mind about participating, It was a huge commitment, but I also felt like I got a lot out of it and will certainly participate next year. Having a theme definitely helps and the biggest trick for next year will be to find a way to visit more blogs. Congrats on finishing.
