A to Z Challenge
"Looking High" acrylic painting ©Mary Montague Sikes |
"Looking High" is a 16" x 12" acrylic painting on stretched canvas.
Wonder how much longer wild animals like the giraffe will remain in their natural habitats? As people move deeper into the wilderness, the animals are pushed away. I complain about the white tail deer that eat our bushes and flowers throughout the year, but they were here long before I was.
Who really belongs?

Brett, I bet you could learn. Thanks for visiting.
Aneline, yes, I've wanted to try this for a long time. Thanks for coming by.
Oh I love this one. Love how it looks like the giraffe is smiling. And you're so right about the habitat, it's a sad situation.
Animals were here first. Very nice job!
Giraffes are my favourite wild animal. They are so beautiful.
Julie, I love happy animals! Thank you.
Alex, and so were the Indian tribes! Thanks!
A Daft Scots Lass, giraffes are beautiful. I wonder how our world got so many different animals. Thanks for visiting!

Thanks, Amy!!!
Hello, Mary! Your giraffe painting is wonderful!! I so wish I had that kind of talent. The zebra is my favorite animal, but giraffes are cool, too!

A-Zing over. Wondered how you were getting along with this project! News From Nowhere
Visiting from A to Z.
I can't believe you're doing a painting a day. I could work for months and get nowhere. Wish I had artistic talent.
I love your giraffe.

Laura, thanks so much for the compliment.
Dani, thanks for visiting!
Barbara, thank you.
what a neat idea. I love giraffes, they're so adorable and they seem so calm and gentle. It's so sad to think about how far we are encroaching upon animals' territory. The saddest part is, sometimes they're the ones who get punished for it. :(
Have fun with a-z.
I wish I could do something that artful day after day. You are doing an amazing job keeping pace, Monti.
I like your giraffe :)
Thank you, Jessica, for visiting. The giraffe is my favorite painting, so far.
Chuck, thanks for stopping by and checking on my progress!
Flipping back through your paintings, and catching up. All are so good. Love the 'perky' giraffe!
