In romance writing, we sometimes say, "Her heart was shattered." We mean that some action has crushed her emotionally. A shattered heart might be more difficult to repair than a broken heart. Which do you think is worse? Are they equally traumatic.

This is a great way to showcase a shattered heart. I think shattered is even worse because it is all in small pieces and much harder to mend than a broken one
